Frequently Asked Questions

What is the story behind the Radia-Guard™ logo?
Frequently Asked QuestionsThe logo consists of a protective gold circle with the initials "rg" which have been stylized to represent a guardian angel, one of our favorite themes. If you look closely you will see a golden halo above the upswept arms of the symbol. The Radia-Guard wordmark is created with an Adobe typeface called "Cochin" and was chosen for its elegant and peaceful swashes and delicate cursive letters. The logo symbolizes the heavenly and hopeful protection that we have built into our products and our mission. As a symbol, we hope it brings you comfort, hope and peace of mind.

2. How often or how many times a day can I safely use the Radiation Treatment Lotion?
It is important that you apply the lotion as directed, but you can apply the lotion as often as needed to soothe your skin and be comfortable.

3. How can I apply the Radiation Treatment Lotion without interfering with my radiation markings?
You can do this with a cotton tip applicator (like a Q-tip). First, apply the lotion with the applicator just inside the skin markings. Then use your fingertips to "fill in" the rest of the area.

4. Does Discreet Deodorant contain an antiperspirant?
No. Discreet Deodorant helps control the underarm odor. Unfortunately, it is the metallic ingredients that give deodorants their antiperspirant properties and Discreet Deodorant does not contain metallics.

5. I have already had 2 weeks of radiation treatments. Will the Radiation Treatment Lotion still benefit me?
Yes! Although it is best to start using Radia-Guard from the beginning of your treatment cycle, you will still see benefits from using it even after your treatment cycle has begun. This lotion contains aloe and Lidocaine which will help soothe your skin. The Jojoba and green tea will help to keep your skin moisturized.

6. Can the ReStructure Cream be used on other parts of the body?
YES! ReStructure Cream can be used anywhere on the face or body. It is excellent for rejuvenating skin, tightening pores and fighting wrinkles. It is recommended that you begin using the ReStructure Cream on the treated area AFTER the completion of your treatment cycle. You can use the ReStructure Cream on other parts of your body during the treatment.

7. About how much Radia-Guard Radiation Therapy Lotion does it take for the entire radiation therapy - (approximately 6 weeks worth)?
It usually only takes 1 tube. If your treatment area is large, there is a possibility that you may need more.

8. My doctor doesn’t want me to use anything until he sees a skin reaction appear. Will Radia-Guard™ Radiation Therapy Lotion still be effective if used after the redness appears?
Yes! Radia-Guard is superior in preventing your skin from breaking down. Since Radia-Guard is designed to help prevent skin damage, it is best to start using it at the beginning of your treatment cycle. Redness is the first sign of skin damage. Radia-Guard will help soothe your skin discomfort within minutes of applying it. However, benefits would be greater if used from the beginning of your treatment cycle. Be sure your doctor understands that there are no metals or metal compounds that could interfere with your therapy.

9. I have open sores on the area that has been treated with radiation. Can I start using Radia-Guard™ Radiation Therapy Lotion on that area?
You should consult with your doctor any time that open sores develop. Your doctor can decide if Radia-Guard™ can be used in this area.

10. What are the shipping, handling and sales tax charges for my order?
For Ground delivery the charge is $5.00 added to your order even if several products are purchased at the same time. For 2nd Day Delivery, the charge is $18.00. For Overnight, the charge is $29.00.

Due to extra weight considerations, for coupon-based Twin Pack purchases the Ground delivery charge is $8.00. For 2nd Day Delivery, the fee is $20.00. For Overnight, the charge is $40.00.

Sales tax is applied if your order originates inside the state of Georgia. GA Sales Tax is 6%.
